Vieux Carré’s flavor and color are derived exclusively from 100% natural herbs. The flavor is complex with both familiar and intriguing notes. The deep green color is reminiscent of a vintage jewel. The spirit is not over filtered, preserving the flavors extracted through the natural coloring process. A miniscule herbal particulate is natural if found.
Homage to New Orleans’ French Quarter, locally known as
Vieux Carré, is the soul of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Made in the same hand- hammered copper still that’s also used
for the gin.
Banned in the US in 1912, the spirit was only re-allowed in the
country in 2007. Vieux Carré is the first American absinthe to be
distilled and bottled on the East Coast of the USA.
Vieux Carré can be mixed with or without sugar, although the balance is best achieved without sugar. It is recommend to dilute 3 parts water to one part Vieux Carré. Vieux Carré absinthe was specifically designed to work solo or as part of a jazz quartet with other premium cocktail ingredients.
